・1984年発売
・エチオピアで起こった飢餓を受けボブ・ゲルドフが発起人となりイギリスとアイルランドのミュージシャンを中心にチャリティープロジェクトを結成 曲はミッジ・ユーロとの共作
・このバンドエイドに影響を受けアメリカではUSAフォー・アフリカが結成、その後のライヴエイドに繋がった
・1989年にバンド・エイドII、2004年にバンド・エイド20、2014年にはエボラ出血熱の支援目的でバンド・エイド 30として参加メンバーを変えながら活動
